About Emily
I've lived it, studied it, then wrote the book on it.
My experiences as a working parent helped me understand how high the stakes are when team members don't feel supported. I used my training as a veterinarian to critically evaluate the challenges both parents and employers face when approaching parental leave. Then I wrote and published a book about the intersection of working parenthood and veterinary medicine. I leveled up with a certification as a RETAIN Parental Leave Coach to incorporate evidence-based strategies to support both workplaces and working parents.
